Arrests Made in Off-Campus Robbery by Force Case (No Weapons Displayed)

On 02/16/2013 at approximately 12:40 A.M., UMPD and PGPD units responded to the area of Pontiac Street and Baltimore Avenue, which is approximately a mile away from the University of Maryland campus, for a report of an incident.  Two students were walking on Pontiac Avenue when two individuals walked behind them and asked them if they had any money.  When the victims did not respond, the suspects then assaulted the victims and took their personal property to include cell phones.  The suspects then fled on foot.

An exhaustive search was conducted by both UMPD and PGPD units to locate the suspects.  UMPD units were able to locate a wallet and one of the stolen cell phones along with the two original suspects.  These suspects were then turned over to PGPD detectives for further investigation.
